This POPULAR Disney World Hotel Perk Is BACK, and Getting To Magic Kingdom Has Never Been Easier

If you’ve ever stayed at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, then you know one secret hotel perk that can make or break your vacation.

Both Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness Campgrounds offer free boats that take you straight to the Magic Kingdom. While the Fort Wilderness boat dock was closed, it reopened on May 2nd!

The Wilderness Lodge boat dock closed on April 13th for routine maintenance and refurbishment. Starting today, the boat dock will be back in operation, but they will continue minor work through late July 2026.

We checked out the boat dock recently and found it’s now back in business! You can head straight to the Magic Kingdom entrance on this relaxing 10-minute ride through Bay Lake.

There are two sides on the dock, but only one of them is loading right now. We talked with a Cast Member working on the dock while we were waiting on the boat, and they’re having some electrical issues with the lights that are preventing both sides from being open.

At Wilderness Lodge, the boat dock is located conveniently behind the Copper Creek Springs pool. To get to the resort from Magic Kingdom, it’s the central boat dock right in front of the park entrance.

Unfortunately, some parts of the resort are still under construction. Wilderness Lodge, along with the Disney Vacation Club Copper Creek Villas & Cabins, is undergoing refurbishment through late 2026. Disney usually does a good job of staying out of the way of guests, but this construction work could limit views at the hotel. You might see and hear construction work during the day. Most of the hotel’s amenities will remain open.
