Disney World Just Announced ANOTHER Hotel Closure Starting Next Month

If you’ve got an upcoming trip to Disney World this spring, you might want to be aware of a closure taking place at one of our favorite resorts!

Wilderness Lodge

Disney World’s Wilderness Lodge resort is one of Disney’s best deluxe resort hotels. Outside of the resort being gorgeous, it also offers several ways to get around Disney World, including boat transportation. However, that perk won’t be an option for a little while…AGAIN!

If you’re looking for a travel agent to help with your vacation, we recommend our friends at Mouse Fan Travel. They’re experts in the field with over 20 years of vacation planning experience, and they can help take a bunch of the stress out of the entire booking process for you!

Disney Vacation Planner

At the beginning of the year, the Wilderness Lodge saw their boat docks close for refurbishment. It didn’t take long for them to reopen, but for a couple of weeks, the boats weren’t available at the resort. The inconvenience is that the resort is near Magic Kingdom, and the boats are one way to get to the park (the buses being the other).

Unfortunately, the boat docks are closing once again, only this time for a longer period. We got word that from April 13th through late July 2026, the boat dock at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge will undergo routine maintenance.

The good news is that even though the dock will be getting refurbished, the boats to get to Magic Kingdom don’t have to be unavailable for the ENTIRE time. So, the dock will be closed and boat transportation temporarily suspended from April 13th through May 1st — becoming available for guests a lot sooner than the end of the refurbishment period.

That being said, there will be a few weeks in the spring when the boats will be closed. The buses will be available for transportation to the Magic Kingdom during that time.

Disney’s Wilderness Lodge

Speaking of refurbishment at Wilderness Lodge, the hotel, along with Copper Creek Villas & Cabins, is still undergoing refurbishment, which is set to go through late 2026. Disney usually does a good job of staying out of the way of guests, but this construction work could limit views at the hotel. You’ll also see and hear construction being done during the day at the resort. Most amenities at the hotel will still remain open, so it shouldn’t be too much of an inconvenience. Just something to consider if you’re planning to stay here.
