A Bunch of Random Reasons 4PM May Be the BEST Time To Ride EPCOT’s Most Popular Ride

Sometimes, there is an easy way to tell exactly when you might want to ride a popular ride at Disney World.

Often, taking advantage of rope drop or even Early Theme Park Entry could get you a shorter line for those rides. You might also find that a good time to ride those rides is during nighttime entertainment — while everyone is watching the nighttime shows, you could be riding your favorite rides.​

Sometimes, when we’re looking at wait times in Disney World, there’s a strange time in the middle of the day when a popular ride has a lower wait time than usual. This only lasts for about an hour, but if you can catch it, it’s a great way to hop in a shorter standby line.

For example, yesterday, May 21st, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, which often has a wait time of an hour OR MORE, dropped down to just 35 minutes at 4PM. Why 4PM? It could be for a few reasons. Maybe families with little ones started heading back to their hotels for a nap. Maybe a large portion of the crowds went to dinner. Even though this is an indoor attraction, even the weather may cause the wait time to drop — we tend to see lots of people leave the parks when there’s a downpour. Usually, we see people start to “crash” between 3–4PM; especially if they woke up early for rope drop.

Here’s the key takeaway: if you want to catch shorter lines like this, keep an eye on the My Disney Experience app — you might want to check wait times at least every hour. If you see a ride wait time drop, make a beeline for that ride!
