15 Rides Were CLOSED Yesterday in Disney World

We get it…it’s no fun to get to Disney World and make a beeline for your favorite ride only to discover that it’s closed.

However, closures will happen, regardless of the circumstance. Sometimes weather closes rides, sometimes Disney announces ride refurbishments, and sometimes rides just have technical difficulties. It happens. For example, if you were to visit Disney World yesterday, you would have seen 15 rides closed during the day.​

You may not be able to control ride closures, but you can control how you react to them. Your best bet is to have a backup plan, or another ride that you also want to ride in the park you’re currently visiting. Now, ride closures rarely last long, so you’ll also want to keep an eye on the My Disney Experience app to catch when the ride reopens.

If you plan for ride closures to happen, you’ll be ready when they do. Now, there are instances where you may have a Lightning Lane booked for a ride that closes, you’ll get a Select Experiences Lightning Lane added to your account. Then, you can book another Lightning Lane immediately. This selection can be used at any time during the day, too.

If you purchase a Lightning Lane Single Pass for a ride and the ride does not reopen, you should receive a refund for your purchase. If you don’t, you can visit a Guest Relations Cast Member.
