6 Things Cast Members Wish You’d Stop Doing When Getting on Disney Rides

Walt Disney World’s four theme parks are home to some of the best-known theme park rides in the world. From classics like Pirates of the Caribbean, The Haunted Mansion, and “it’s a small world” to modern-day revolutionary E-Tickets like Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and Rise of the Resistance. It makes sense that people can sometimes get overly excited to ride some of these rides.

However, no matter how excited a guest is, there are certain things they still need to do when boarding said rides, and — arguably more importantly — some they shouldn’t do. These are the things Disney Cast Members WISH everyone boarding Disney rides would STOP doing ASAP.

Single Rider Means SINGLE Rider

Single rider lines can — at times — get a guest through the queue for an in-demand attraction quicker than the standard queue. However, what parties and families need to remember is that the single rider line exists for Cast Members to pull literal SINGLE riders out to fill in empty spots in other ride vehicles. So please, don’t expect — or demand — that your whole single rider line party sit together.

Go Where You’re Told…

If a Cast Member tells you where to go when boarding a vehicle — whether a specific seat, row, vehicle, or loading area — please listen to them, even if it’s not your first choice. Now, you CAN request a specific seat or etc….

… But Don’t Argue With Cast Members Who Don’t Grant Your Request

Yes, you can ask a Cast Member for a specific Vehicle/Row/Seat. If they’re unable to grant it, please don’t yell at them. They likely can’t for capacity or safety reasons, so cut them some slack.

Not Storing Your Belongings

If you’re boarding a thrill ride, make sure to remove any hats, glasses, and ears, and store your belongings securely before the ride begins. Oh, and if you’re riding TRON, make sure to put your stuff in a locker.

Not Paying Attention to the Safety Restraint Check

If you’ve been riding Disney rides for any amount of time, you’ve likely been part of a security check which involves Cast Members interacting with you, pulling on a security tab on a seatbelt, or trying to push up a lapbar to ensure they’re securely connected. Please pay attention when a Cast Member comes around to check, as the ride can’t begin until all guests have been checked.

Having Your Phone or Camera Out on Rides Where They’re Banned

If a ride doesn’t allow phones, put your phone away. PLEASE.
