JUST REVEALED: Cast Member Previews of Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin Begin Soon

Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin is reopening soon at Magic Kingdom!

The reimagined ride will officially open on April 8th, but some exclusive groups can ride it even earlier!

If you’re a Walt Disney World Cast Member, you can sign up right now to ride Buzz Lightyear’s Spaceranger Spin early! To register, either click the link in your email or head to the CastLife site, then select a time slot. Previews will be held from March 21st to 27th!

There could potentially be more ways to ride the ride early if you’re not a Cast Member. Walt Disney World Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club members may have the opportunity to preview the ride. Disney hasn’t announced these previews or when they might happen, but it typically holds them a week or two before the ride opens. You’ll get an email with more details if it’s announced!

The reimagined Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin will feature a brand new ride vehicle inspired by the colors of Buzz Lightyear and Star Command.

The vehicles also have video monitors that provide real-time scoring updates. You know the ones seen in Hollywood Studios’ shooting game Toy Story Mania? Yeah, we’re expecting something similar.

The reopened ride features all-new interactive targets that react and light up when hit. They’ll flash green if you score, so now you can tell when you’ve hit!

There are also new handheld blasters with always-on lasers, along with new lighting, sound, and vibration effects. These will detach from the holder for easier shooting!

There’s also a brand new opening scene where Buddy, Star Command’s newest support bot, will train you to take down Zurg. Look at this new ride photo that displays your scores!
