When we say yesterday was a BAD day for three different rides in Disney World, we mean it in the fullest extent of the word.
Ride closures aren’t uncommon — they happen pretty normally, but three rides really struggled yesterday. One was closed for SIX hours straight, another for FIVE hours straight, and a third for three hours…all in separate parks.
Let’s take a look at wait times for January 26th, 2026.
Magic Kingdom
TRON Lightcycle / Run had its highest wait time of 105 minutes just BEFORE the end of the park day, but then we watched it drop to 65 minutes the final hour of the park day, which was very interesting. Even wilder, though, was that Pirates of the Caribbean was closed for SIX hours straight, and only reopened in the final hour of the park day — let’s hope this isn’t a new trend!

Rather than hitting its highest wait time in the early morning at rope drop OR last thing before the park closed, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind hit its 90-minute wait randomly at 5 PM. However, what really shocked us was that Spaceship Earth was closed for FIVE hours straight, starting at the very start of the day. Super strange that such long closures would happen in two parks, but maybe Animal Kingdom will break the trend.
