A Massive Outage Closed Nearly Every Ride in Disney World Yesterday

Yesterday was a pretty wild day in Disney World, but not for the reason you think.

It’s not often that it happens, but yesterday, August 29th, there was a widespread outage in the resort that caused the majority of the rides in all four parks to go down for two hours! That meant that only a handful of rides were left operating, and in three out of four parks, only ONE ride was left available — here’s what that looked like in real time.

Below is a full list of Disney World wait times on August 29th, 2025.

Magic Kingdom

With it being a Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party night, we were pleasantly surprised to see that the highest wait time of the day was 50 minutes for both Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and TRON Lightcycle / Run. However, more jarring was the MASSIVE outage that happened across the whole park in the late afternoon. At 4 PM, eight rides were closed, and an hour later, thirteen were down, RIGHT as the park was closing for regular guests.

Test Track hit the highest wait of 130 minutes at the very end of the day, which isn’t surprising since it had multiple closures throughout the day. What really shocked us was seeing that during the massive outage, EVERY RIDE except for ONE was closed at 6 PM (and the only one open was Gran Fiesta Tour).

Flight of Passage had the highest wait of 75 minutes, and during the massive outage (it hit at 5 PM), every ride went down except for Kilimanjaro Safaris, which makes sense, since those trucks are gas-powered and are not on any sort of track.

While issues were widespread, we’ll argue that Hollywood Studios had the worst day. Not only did the outage take out every ride except Alien Swirling Saucers at 5 PM, which then closed at 6 PM, and Tower of Terror was then the only ride running, but the highest wait time was a three-way tie between Tower of Terror, Toy Story Mania, and Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run at 110 minutes.
