One thing we talk about a lot is how important it is to rope drop Magic Kingdom, because that’s when you’ll find some of the lowest ride wait times of the day. We think it’s almost always worth it.
However, rope drop also brings long lines to certain rides because they’re the ones almost everyone runs to when the park officially opens, so we’re telling you to avoid four of those rides and rope drop anything else.

So what rides should you NOT rope drop? Those will be the rides that almost always have the longest wait times when the park opens. If we’re looking at wait times for yesterday, four rides had waits of 40 minutes or more. That includes Space Mountain with a 40-minute wait, Peter Pan’s Flight with a 50-minute wait, TRON Lightcycle / Run with a 50-minute wait, and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train with a 55- minute wait.
All other rides in the parks had wait times as little as 0 and as high as 35 minutes, so you could knock out more when the park opens if you hit those first and come back to the other rides later, especially if you have Lightning Lane Multi Pass or Lightning Lane Single Pass.
