Can you believe that Disney World has actually gotten SIMPLER in some ways?

It often feels like trips to Disney World just get more complicated year by year, with new reservations, phone apps, and plans you have to make in advance. It can get overwhelming! But in 2026, some things at Disney World have actually become a smidge less complicated.

Park Pass Reservations IN the App

One big upgrade came to Disney World’s app, My Disney Experience, recently. Now, you can make Park Pass Reservations directly in the app, instead of clicking on the button and being redirected to the Disney website.

Park Passes are only required for tickets that aren’t date-based, like Annual Passes, these days, so this change doesn’t affect many people. But for those of us who make Park Passes frequently to visit the parks and report on the news, it’s a little update that helps a LOT.

Two Rides Reopened in Magic Kingdom

Compared to 2025 and the beginning of 2026, Magic Kingdom has gotten less complicated since two popular attractions reopened this spring! Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin both reopened after lengthy refurbishments and updates.

Having these two rides operating again helps spread out crowds a bit and makes the park flow better, particularly in Frontierland and Tomorrowland. It also helps with the availability of Lightning Lanes, since these two options have returned to the list.

New Crowd Control for Pin Drops

If you’ve ever been to the parks on Pin Drop Tuesday, then you know that it can get overwhelming at the gift shops. When those exclusive new pins get released, collectors will swarm the stores to get their hands on them.

Thankfully, in 2026, Disney has updated the process for Pin Drop Tuesdays. There are now dedicated lines for crowd control that make getting into the store and getting the pin you want much easier. We’re all for less-crowded gift shops!

The Afternoon Park Ticket

If you’re the type of person who just wants to head to the parks for a few hours, hit a couple of rides, and enjoy a delicious meal, then Disney World’s 2026 afternoon park ticket is just what you need. This ticket gives you access to one of the Disney World parks per day, but only after 2PM.

You can buy the After 2PM ticket for two days or three days, and prices vary depending on the dates you select, but are cheaper than the prices for a full-day ticket to the parks. This is an easy way to save money on your park tickets if you’re not a morning person, or if you want to schedule other plans for early in the day.

Animal Kingdom Definitely Got…Simpler

Finally, we’ve got to mention Animal Kingdom. This one’s a little depressing, but this park definitely got less complicated in 2026 because of the closure of DinoLand, U.S.A. Closing that land removed two rides from the park, as well as several snack/dining and shopping locations.

With those offerings closed, your day at Animal Kingdom will likely be much shorter in 2026. Thankfully, the new Tropical Americas land will open in its place in 2027!
