Listen, we keep warning you over and over again about those spring break crowds creeping into Disney World, and now it seems that time may have already started.
We’ve been keeping up with how the crowds at Disney World have been shifting lately and even predicted 3+ hour wait times for rides and attractions days ago. But, even with all the preparation, we weren’t quite sure how soon we would see that happen this month… until now.
Holidays at Disney World can be pretty brutal for crowds but so can the springtime. Picture it — thousands of people who are ready to ditch the snow and ice for the warm Florida rays of sunshine AND have a bunch of fun while they’re out and about; what could be better?
Well, it seems that during these times people are all thinking about the same kind of vacation around the same time. We’ve seen some of the wait times waver last week dropping in apparent attendance and then picking back up with a fury, but we recently spotted several Disney World rides dangerously close to 3-hour posted wait times.
Flight of Passage was the one to break the benchmark with its highest posted wait time all day of 180 minutes (good thing this attraction’s queue line has its own bathrooms)!
While others came close like Rise of the Resistance and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure they wavered more around the 2 1/2 hour mark, which isn’t too far off when you think about it. We don’t expect these wait times to decrease anytime soon, and in fact, we’re thinking from here on over the next several weeks you’ll probably see more wait times increase beyond the 3-hour posted wait time.

Just returned from WDW. Been going for 30 years.Monday we went to Epcot. It was more crowded than we have ever seen it there.EVER. What concerns me is Disney does not seem to care.They are adding more DVC villas and the new Riviera resort and the new hotel at the Swan and Dolphin bring more people on property and there is no way to accommodate the added crowds in the parks. We only went to the parks 3 times and thoroughly enjoyed our time….. away from the parks. The days of a seven day park hopper pass for a weeks vacation for us are over. If a Disney’s ultimate goal has always been to keep people on property and get them to buy stuff, I think it will ultimately come back to haunt them. You do not spend money outside the parks, at least not nearly as much, and you certainly don’t spend a dime standing in a 3 hour line.
