This Disney World Ride Was Closed for SIX HOURS Yesterday

Some rides in Disney World cause more issues than others, and it’s something we’ve just learned to deal with.

Rides like Rise of the Resistance, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, and Test Track (more recently) are some of the most common culprits when it comes to ride closures, but when we saw that one ride was closed for a total of SIX HOURS yesterday, we were shocked when we saw which it was. Does this mean we need to start worrying about this attraction, too? Goodness, we hope not.

These wait times are from December 18th, 2025.

Magic Kingdom

TRON Lightcycle / Run hit a 75-minute wait a few hours before Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party began, but then dropped pretty drastically afterwards! With this in mind, if you’re visiting on a party night, it may be worth it to wait for it to be your LAST ride of the day before non-party guests have to head out — if you’re in line before 6 PM, you’re good to go!

Epcot

Test Track hit a 95-minute wait, but Cosmic Rewind was only 10 minutes behind at the very end of the day! If you’ve got either of them (or both!) on your list, mentally prepare to spend some serious time in line! We did see Gran Fiesta Tour, Spaceship Earth, and Journey into Imagination have some struggles throughout the day, but all were fortunately short-lived.

Avatar Flight of Passage hit its highest wait time of 65 minutes right at noon, which is beginning to be a bit of a theme — it seems that rope dropping AND waiting until the end of the day may not be as frequent a strategy anymore. We didn’t expect to see so many ride closure issues, though! Dinosaur was closed for the first three hours of the day, then also closed for the last three.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

To our shock, Hollywood Studios faced NO ride closures yesterday! Talk about a miracle! The highest wait time, unsurprisingly, went to Slinky Dog Dash, which hit an 80-minute wait at 1 PM. Waiting in this long line in the middle of the day is MUCH easier during the winter than it is during the summer — there’s no chance of heat exhaustion!
