Disney Files NEW Permit For Popular EPCOT Pavilion

In the midst of all the construction and refurbishing going on at Disney World, we forgot about the work being done on this popular EPCOT pavilion, until now.

Ok, maybe we didn’t forget, since Disney has spent the past several months refurbishing one of the most iconic sights at EPCOT’s World Showcase. It’s finally time for an update over in the Mexico Pavilion. Well, let’s talk about it because Disney just filed a new permit!

 

Construction has been going on at the Mexico Pavilion since February 2026. The area has seen scaffolding, themed scrims, and temporary pathway closures around the exterior for the past few months, and work is continuing.

Disney has been making progress on construction, but it is not yet complete. In fact, a recent permit was filed for the pavilion as the exterior is still getting worked on. There were also two more permits for elevator maintenance.

It looks like the permit is to continue work on the pavilion as a whole. The general description is for providing labor, materials, and electrical services for the construction.

What’s been nice during this construction period is that the pavilion has been running normally. Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros has remained open after its most recent refurbishment, and you can still enjoy everything else inside the pavilion.

Compared to the other parks, EPCOT doesn’t have any massive construction projects going on. Everything is open, with some new stuff having arrived at the park to kick off the summer. Cool Kids’ Summer has begun, and GoofyCore has returned to CommuniCore Hall.

Also, Soarin’ Across America, the new retheme of the iconic Soarin’ Around the World, is open for guests. This new ride overlay came for America’s 250th anniversary.
