It’s not uncommon for us to see high wait times in EPCOT thanks to some of the resort’s most popular attractions being there, but to see THIS attraction at a 100-minute wait while it’s colder outside? That’s not what we were expecting.
Soarin’ Around The World is popular, don’t get us wrong, but when we see 100+ minute waits, it’s often from Test Track or Cosmic Rewind. So the moment we saw that there was a 100 minute wait for THIS ride? Yeah, we knew something was wrong.
Magic Kingdom
For the most part, wait times were LOW in Magic Kingdom throughout the whole day, with TRON Lightcycle / Run only hitting a 65 minute wait right before the park closed for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. However, multiple rides did have issues with closures, most notably being The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, the PeopleMover, and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.

To our COMPLETE shock, Soarin’ had the highest wait of 100 minutes, which we’re chalking up to a ride issue, because not only did it jump up out of NOWHERE, but we haven’t seen a wait time that high for it in months (at least). The park didn’t have a great start, seeing three different closures in the first two hours, but fortunately, they all got back on track quickly.

When I was at Epcot a couple weeks ago there was a long delay on Soarin’. We got loaded and buckled into our seats, then nothing. Several managers walking in front of us on phones. It ended up taking at least 15 minutes to get the ride started. With the new movie coming, it will be a good time for a refurb.
