Why You May Want to Stay AWAY From EPCOT Right Now

Spring break season is in full swing, but we’ll be the first to admit that things are NOT looking like we expected they would.

Construction is practically everywhere in three out of the four Disney World parks, and while we had a feeling this would affect how crowds moved through the park, we didn’t expect to see that the ONE park without construction would become the literal place to be. By that, we mean park reservations sold out, the longest lines in the whole resort, and crowds galore.

Magic Kingdom

Magic Kingdom had a rough start again, with Carousel of Progress, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure closed for the first hour of the day, and Pirates remained closed for two additional hours. Space Mountain was closed for two hours later on in the day, but the highest wait time didn’t hit until the last hour of the day, when TRON Lightcycle / Run hit a 115 minute wait. Not bad at all for a Friday during spring break season!

Epcot

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind hit a 150 minute wait right around the middle of the day, which also happened to be right after Test Track closed for an hour. The Seas with Nemo and Friends also closed twice, which does make us a little concerned for this ride, as we’ve seen it close often in the past few weeks. Additionally, when it comes to wait times overall, this continues the trend that this park appears to be the most popular of them all right now.

Avatar Flight of Passage hit an 85 minute wait right at 10 AM, but remained decently low throughout the rest of the day. Kali River Rapids did close for two hours, which isn’t ideal during the warmer spring season, but overall, the park didn’t hit too many snags.
