6 BIG Disney Announcements Coming Soon!

D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event will be held on August 14th to 16th at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.

We’re already so excited for the Disney Parks and Disney entertainment panels, so here are our predictions on what Disney could announce!

The Disney Entertainment Showcase will be held on Friday, August 14th. This is where Disney announces everything about their new movies and TV shows. We’re expecting a lot, so buckle up!

Marvel Cinematic Universe

Marvel has two upcoming movies, Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars. Avengers: Doomsday has a release date of December 18th, 2026. The film has had four teaser trailers, but no full trailer has been released yet. If we haven’t gotten a full-length trailer by July, then Disney is saving it for D23!

The follow-up, Avengers: Secret Wars, was announced back in 2022, but we haven’t heard anything about it since. We’re expecting at least casting news, since filming is set to begin this summer!

Star Wars: Starfighter

Star Wars: Starfighter is an upcoming Star Wars movie with an expected release of May 28th, 2027. The movie is set five years after Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, and the standalone film is completely separate from the Skywalker Saga.

The movie notably stars Ryan Gosling, Amy Adams, Matt Smith of Doctor Who (2005), and Mia Goth from Pearl (2022). According to the Hollywood Reporter, filming wrapped on December 18th, 2025. We’re expecting to get at least a teaser trailer with plot details for the movie at D23 in August!

Bluey: The Movie

With how much Bluey has been featured in the Disney Parks and cruises, we’d be surprised if D23 had no mention of our favorite Blue Heeler pup. Bluey’s feature-length film will be released in theaters on August 6th, 2027.

Bluey: The Movie is written and directed by Bluey creator Joe Brumm, with returning voice talent Melanie Zanetti as Mum and David McCormack as Dad. That’s all we know about the film right now! We’re expecting at least a teaser at D23.

‘Bluey’ Movie Sets Official Release Date

The Disney Experiences Showcase will be held on Saturday, August 15th. This panel is where Disney announces all of its new updates to the Disney Parks.

Villains Land

Magic Kingdom‘s Villains Land was announced at D23 in 2024, and we’re expecting more info on it this year. We still don’t know what attractions or rides will be offered in the new land.

Rumors have been circulating on everything from a Maleficent dark ride to an Emperor’s New Groove-themed Yzma coaster. We think Disney will nip these in the bud and announce at least their big-ticket attractions at D23!

Pueblo Esperanza

Disney announced the newest addition to Animal Kingdom at D23 in 2024. The Tropical Americas-themed land will feature an Encanto ride, an Indiana Jones ride, and a Disney animal-themed carousel.

We have basic plot details of the big-ticket Encanto and Indiana Jones rides, but we’re expecting more interior concept art. The land is set to open in 2027, so there likely won’t be another D23 event before its opening.

Monsters, Inc. Land

The Monsters, Inc. Land at Hollywood Studios was announced at D23 in 2024. This new land will be transformed into Monstropolis and feature Disney World’s first-ever suspended coaster.

There will be some sort of theater show in the land, but Disney hasn’t announced which show the theater will host.  We’re expecting an official announcement on the attractions coming to Monstropolis.
