Disney World is in a massive state of flux right now, with massive construction projects ongoing at the Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, and — our focus today — Animal Kingdom.

Disney is deep in the process of expanding the park with the new Tropical Americas land, which is taking over the space once occupied by DinoLand U.S.A., as well as expanding through some former backstage areas to become the fictional village of Pueblo Esperanza.
Work on the land, which is going to be headlined by rides based on Encanto and Indiana Jones, is currently ongoing, and being documented by theme park photographer extraordinaire @BioReconstruct on Twitter/X.

Recently, they shared some NEW updates from the land, which is taking shape even quicker following the February closures of the last vestiges of DinoLand, including the opening day E-Ticket DINOSAUR, which is being refurbished into the Indiana Jones attraction.
In the latest updates, we can see an overview of Pueblo Esperanza coming together…

…which can be compared to the preexisting concept art.

The site includes models of “color and texture for facades and theming elements.” Imagineers use these models to ensure that materials will look good in all kinds of natural light and, in turn, as a reference to sculpt/paint the full-size buildings on site.

Finally, @BioReconstruct shared a look at the site of the land’s third ride, a “wood-carved” carousel.

According to Disney, this carousel’s theme will tie directly into Pubela Esperanza, with the story being that a “woodcarver has created a giant working carousel featuring his favorite animals from Disney stories.”

As the Tropical Americas project continues steaming forward towards its opening, stay tuned to AllEars for further coverage of this new land.
