We’re Calling It Now — This Disney’s Hollywood Studios Ride Will Require A Refurbishment in The Next Two Years

When December comes around, we expect to see ride wait times to go up.

The holiday season is one of the busiest times of year for Disney World, and for good reason! There are numerous special events to check out, lots of seasonal snacks that are only around for a limited time, and the decorations are truly something to marvel at. However, when we saw this ride’s wait time get as high as it did, we had to admit that instead of thinking, “wow, this ride is popular,” we found ourselves going, “wow, this ride is BROKEN.”

Let’s take a look at the wait times for Saturday, December 6th, 2025. 

Magic Kingdom

TRON Lightcycle / Run reached a 95-minute wait towards the end of the day, once it was dark (not surprising), but Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, being not far behind at a 75-minute wait IN DECEMBER, was not on our bucket list. While the ride was closed for the first hour of the morning, it’s really The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh that continued to have issues throughout the day.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind hit a 95-minute wait, but Test Track wasn’t far behind at 90 minutes. However, we thought Test Track would have another good day, but alas, it was closed for the last two hours of the day. It wasn’t the only ride with issues, though, because Journey into Imagination had a ROUGH day too, which threw us off. Maybe Figgy didn’t wanna wear his Christmas sweater?

Animal Kingdom continues to be difficult with the rope drop strategy, because whereas yesterday the highest wait time for Flight of Passage hit in the middle of the day, today it hit its high of 75 minutes in the second hour of the park day. By the end of the day, though, it was all the way down to 35 minutes, which was impressive!

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Listen, we’re not saying that Toy Story Mania isn’t a good ride, but we’re starting to think there’s something REALLY wrong happening inside the ride numerous times a week, because we never would have expected to see it at 90 minutes in December. How do we know it’s not just wildly popular? Well, an hour later, it was down to 45 minutes (a direct cut in half), and by 6 PM, it was down to 35 minutes. We’re not sure what’s going on with this ride, Disney, or if it really is just this popular, but consider us intrigued.
