You Can Score Ridiculously Low Wait Times in Magic Kingdom — Here’s the Secret ?

If you plan on visiting Disney World, you may be trying to decide if you should rope drop the parks.

In the past, rope drop almost always guaranteed shorter lines for rides first thing in the morning, but over the past few years, that isn’t always the case. So we don’t always recommend being at the parks for rope drop anymore. However, you may still want to rope drop one park: Magic Kingdom.​

We’ve been looking at the ride wait times in Magic Kingdom, and we’re seeing that most rides in the park have lower wait times just after the park opens. In looking at yesterday’s wait times, for example, we noticed that almost every ride had a wait time of 15 minutes or less, except for Peter Pan’s Flight.  Now, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train was closed during that time, and we expect it would have had a higher wait time, but everything else was practically walk-on!

So we still recommend considering being at Magic Kingdom for rope drop. If you’re staying at a Disney World hotel, you can also take advantage of Early Theme Park Entry, you may also be able to knock out some rides 30 minutes before the parks open to everyone else. So set those alarms early on your Magic Kingdom day — you’ll find it will pay off in a HUGE way.
