The 14 Best Rides To Rope Drop in Magic Kingdom

So we’ve said it time and again, but the one park you should almost always try to rope drop is Magic Kingdom.

We say this because of all the parks in Disney World, Magic Kingdom has the most rides, but it can also have some of the highest wait times, especially later in the day. But getting to the parks early and rope dropping (or even taking advantage of Early Theme Park Entry) can help you ride more attractions in that park. Now, let’s look at which rides you should rope drop (and they’re not the ones you think).​

Here’s the thing: at rope drop, almost everyone is going to make a run for popular rides like Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and TRON Lightcycle / Run. Don’t do that. Instead, you should focus on rides like Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Frontierland, or Pirates of the Caribbean and Magic Carpets of Aladdin in Adventureland. You could also head to Tomorrowland and hop on Astro Orbiter, check out Carousel of Progress, and ride the PeopleMover and Tomorrowland Speedway.

Or make a beeline for Fantasyland to knock out rides like Dumbo, “it’s a small world,” Mad Tea Party, Prince Charming Regal Carrousel, Under the Sea — The Journey of the Little Mermaid, and Mickey’s PhilharMagic. All of these rides tend to have wait times at rope drop that are 15 minutes or less. Some have wait times of as little as 5 minutes. You could knock a lot of rides out quickly by following this strategy.
