WOW. I'm SO Sorry If You Were Rope Dropping Disney's Hollywood Studios Yesterday

Even as we move away from the holiday season, the crowd levels are still holding steady at Disney World!

The holiday season is one of the busiest times of the year at Disney World, and this year was no different. Let’s take a look at what the wait times were like on January 3rd, 2025.

January 3rd was a BUSY day at Disney World. There were 10 attractions that reached a wait time of two or more hours at some point in the day. And, the highest wait time of the day goes to Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, which had a wait time of 200 minutes at 5PM (that is over 3 hours)!

We could also tell that there were a lot of people hoping to beat the crowds by rope-dropping some of the more popular rides. When Magic Kingdom opened at 8AM, TRON Lightcycle Run had a 150-minute wait, and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train had a 95-minute wait. Over in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Avatar Flight of Passage had a 160-minute wait.

When Disney’s Holywood Studios opened at 8AM, Slinky Dog had a 120-minute wait while Rise of the Resistance was closed. But at 9AM, Rise of the Resistance had a 170-minute wait, and Slinky Dog Dash had a 105-minute wait. When EPCOT opened at 9AM, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure had a 135-minute wait.

Rise of the Resistance

While we often recommend rope-dropping the parks to knock out some of the more popular rides, keep in mind you won’t be the only person doing that! Popular attractions will have long waits during busy times even if you rope drop them. However, rope dropping can still save you some time waiting in line for the most popular attractions, or you can also stop by near park close for a chance at a lower wait time.

TRON Lightcycle / Run remained the most popular ride all day long; from rope drop to park close, it topped the list of highest wait times. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Space Mountain were the other two most popular attractions. One of the biggest surprises was seeing “it’s a small world” reach a 90-minute wait, while Peter Pan’s Flight only had an 85-minute wait at the same time. While various rides were temporarily closed throughout the day, there were not any lengthy closures, which is definitely a good thing on busy days!

Over in EPCOT, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure reached a wait time of 200 minutes! Frozen Ever After and Soarin’ were the other two most popular rides. We were also surprised too see The Seas with Nemo and Friends with a pretty high wait time between 11AM and 4PM with a wait time ranging from 40 – 65 minutes. We definitely don’t recommend waiting that long for The Seas with Nemo and Friends.

Avatar Flight of Passage had a long wait time all day long, which is common for this popular attraction. Kilimanjaro Safaris was also very popular today and almost gave Avatar Flight of Passage a run for its money throughout the day. At 3PM, Avatar Flight of Passage had a 135-minute wait, with Kilimanjaro Safaris right behind it with a 130-minute wait.
