This Disney World Ride is Screaming For Help, and It's Only January

It’s a new year, and while we’re feeling ready to crush our New Year’s resolutions, it looks like Disney World rides aren’t exactly on the same page.

We’ve seen what rough days in Disney World look like, and we know what rides are bound to be our biggest troublemakers, but that still doesn’t make it any better when they DO act up. In fact, we’ve gotta be totally honest with you — we’re getting REAL concerned about this one ride in one of the most popular parks.

Let’s take a look at wait times from Monday, January 5th, 2026!

Magic Kingdom

TRON Lightcycle / Run hit a 115-minute wait towards the end of the day (but NOT at the end of the day — it actually dropped down to a 95-minute wait during the last hour of the park day. Fortunately, the only unexpected closures throughout the day were Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Space Mountain, and Carousel of Progress, but each was only for one hour, keeping things running smoothly.

Epcot

To our surprise, Cosmic Rewind actually started off the day with the highest wait time in the whole park at 120 minutes. Will this be a new trend for 2026? We’ll have to see! This was likely partially due to the fact that Soarin’ was closed at the start of the day, and proceeded to close twice more throughout the day. Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure and Journey into Imagination both also saw brief one-hour closures.

Meanwhile, Flight of Passage continues to confuse us in 2026, because it reached its highest wait time of 135 minutes at 12 PM, but then also rose back up to 125 minutes a few hours before park closing! It seems like this ride consistently wants to keep our lives interesting, and we’re kinda here for it.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

We continue to be more and more concerned about Toy Story Mania. It hit a 120-minute wait in the middle of the day before immediately dropping back down to 20 MINUTES the following hour, signaling to us that the high wait time was due to a partial issue inside the ride. Even worse, Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway was closed for the last SIX hours of the park day, which is far from ideal, so we’re hoping Hollywood Studios starts having a bit of a better new year later on this week.
