It happens to the best of us. You get to Disney World, and you are so stoked to ride your favorite ride. You walk over to the ride and see Cast Members standing in front of it. The next thing you know, your favorite ride is closed.
Yes, this happens often in Disney World, and you can’t always know when these kind of ride closures are going to occur (although weather can often play a part). Even yesterday, 15 rides were closed throughout the day in all four theme parks.
You can’t really plan for these kinds of ride closures, but you can plan your response to them. When you see Cast Members in front of a ride, be respectful if you have any questions for them. They may or may not know what the ETA for the ride’s reopening is, after all.
You’ll also see ride closures on the My Disney Experience app. You’ll want to keep an eye on the app, because it will also let you know when a ride reopens. If you catch a ride just as it’s reopened, you might even be able to get in a shorter-than-average standby line for it.
In the meantime, it’s not like there aren’t a million other things to do in the parks. There are other rides to ride, there’s plenty of entertainment, and there are a lot of great snacks. Be patient, use that little bit of extra time to do something that wasn’t in your itinerary for the day.
