This New Flight of Passage Trend Is NOT Something We Expected To See in Disney World

For YEARS at this point, we’ve had a solid rope drop strategy figured out for Disney’s Animal Kingdom. But we take a look at wait times in the Disney World parks each and every day, which means we can see when the trends are changing.

That’s exactly what’s happening right now, in the park we NEVER expected to see such a change! We’ve often noticed that the highest wait time for Flight of Passage has been in the morning, as many people rope drop this popular attraction, but now things are changing — here’s how to prepare!

Below is a full list of wait times in Disney World on October 17th, 2025.

Magic Kingdom

TRON Lightcycle / Run hit a 65-minute wait at two different points of the day, but what really had us concerned was the number of ride closures throughout the day. In the first hour of the day, Haunted Mansion, Peter Pan’s Flight, and Under The Sea – Journey of the Little Mermaid were closed, and later on, Tomorrowland Speedway, Carousel of Progress, and Space Mountain all had trouble as well. Certainly not ideal — especially for a party night when regular guests have a limited amount of time in the park anyway!

EPCOT was quite the busy park yesterday, with multiple rides hitting 100+ minute waits numerous times. However, the highest wait time went to Cosmic Rewind, with a 130-minute wait at the very END of the day! This is curious since the ride didn’t face any closures during the day, though The Seas with Nemo and Friends and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure did.

Once again, Flight of Passage jumped to its highest wait of the day, 85 minutes, in the middle of the park day. This signals to us that rope drop strategies really have changed here, and now, it looks like many people choose to hit all other rides in the park first, then make Flight of Passage their final ride before park hopping, OR that it’s their first ride after park hopping from another park. Many people feel Animal Kingdom is a half-day park, and while we’d normally disagree, with all the construction happening here, we understand why.

Rise of the Resistance hit a 120-minute wait just two hours away from park closing after having a brief closure issue earlier in the day. It also didn’t help that Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway was also closed the second-to-last hour of the park day, which slightly messed up the crowd flow we usually see.
