Yesterday was the Fourth of July, and that means it’s usually VERY busy in Disney World.
However, we’ll be the first to admit that the crowds did NOT look like what you may have been expecting to see. Magic Kingdom and EPCOT both had special fireworks shows in the evening that attracted larger crowds. However, we now know which parks you may want to go to on the 4th of July if you want to AVOID the crowds, because let’s just say that these two parks were EMPTY yesterday.

Magic Kingdom
In a shocking turn of events, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure had the highest wait time of 110 minutes! Our running theory is that, thanks to the weather causing ride closures for outdoor attractions like Tiana’s, and the fact that it was HOT outside, people were rushing to ride this fun, thrilling water ride. Weather and ride malfunctions caused over ten ride closures throughout the day, with Pirates of the Caribbean and Space Mountain facing the biggest issues.

Flight of Passage started off the day at a 95-minute wait, but you’ll never guess what happened. Storms affected the park’s two outdoor attractions so much (Kali River Rapids and Expedition Everest) that, partnered with the technological issues Dinosaur was having, the park EMPTIED OUT. At the end of the day, Flight of Passage had a 15-MINUTE WAIT! Not to mention that since this park didn’t have any special events or offerings for the Fourth of July, a lot of people park-hopped to Magic Kingdom or EPCOT for the evening.

Three rides tied at a 60-minute wait yesterday — Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, Rise of the Resistance, and Slinky Dog Dash. While Slinky Dog Dash had some closure issues due to the rain, otherwise, the park was nearly EMPTY! Looks like no one wanted to spend the Fourth of July in Hollywood Studios since there weren’t any special events going on, so keep that in mind for next year!
