The FRUSTRATING Rope Drop Problem You May Come Across in EPCOT

When you visit Disney World, do you sleep in, or do you get up early and get to the parks right when they open for rope drop?

Well, if you rope drop, you know that it’s a good way to get on rides with some of the shortest wait times of the day. However, there’s a problem with rope dropping, or at least there was if you were in EPCOT yesterday, March 20th. When EPCOT opened, three rides were closed, meaning you couldn’t rope drop those rides.​

If you visited EPCOT on March 20th and rope dropped the park, you might have discovered that three rides were closed first thing in the morning. That includes the very popular Frozen Ever After, which is a ride that many EPCOT visitors choose to hit as soon as the parks open. For the record, that ride remained closed until 1 PM.

Two other rides were also closed, so you might have needed to adjust your schedule and priorities if you were in the park yesterday. That’s the problem with rope drop: sometimes, rides are closed even at the beginning of the day, which could sideline your entire rope drop strategy.

Of course, there’s not a lot you can do when rides are closed except to wait it out and keep an eye on the My Disney Experience app to see when they reopen. If rides are closed at rope drop, you’ll just need to quickly choose other rides to hit first.
