Although we don’t like to think about it, sometimes things don’t always go according to plan in Disney World.
The weather may not be what you hoped it would be (and it will probably rain at least once during your trip, resulting in ride closures). It may be too hot. The parks might be too crowded for your tastes. Or your favorite ride could be closed — well, that is actually something that happens a lot (and happened yesterday with 17 rides). However, you don’t have to let it ruin your day.​
So this is the reality of visiting Disney World: rides sometimes close. The good news is that most ride closures that happen during any given park day are only temporary — those rides generally open back up later. Your best bet is to keep an eye on the My Disney Experience app to see when they reopen. If you time it just right, you could end up in a shorter line than you would have been in originally.
Of course, if you have other plans later in the day and can’t make it to that ride, that could just mean you don’t get to ride that attraction. We just wanted to give a heads-up that this does happen from time to time. Yesterday, 17 rides were closed throughout the day in Disney World.

I experienced such a day when I was a travel agent. I have been to the park on special nights when 100,000 tickets were sold so I know what the park is like with 100K people in it. On this day there will easily 250 to 300,000 people. There were no signs alerting to rides down, you got in six rides all day long, lines were two to three hours long for open rides and people paid full price for this. I never again sold or recommended anything to do with Disney. It was a miserable experience.
