This Is the WORST Time To Ride Slinky Dog Dash in Disney World

It’s COLD in Disney World, y’all!

Is that stopping anyone from visiting the parks, though? It appears not! Crowds have certainly died down after the New Year’s rush, but there are still families and guests exploring the parks all bundled up. However, we’re starting to notice that the cold weather could affect certain rides and their wait times — we’re curious to hear what you think!

It is COLD in Disney World right now — we’re talking temperatures in the 30s and 40s! With such cold, windy weather in the forecast, are people shying away from fast, wet outdoor attractions like Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and Slinky Dog Dash? The data points to yes!

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure

If you want to jump on Slinky Dog Dash, be prepared for a COLD ride right now! Between the cold air and the fast speeds of the ride, you’re sure to really feel that wind. Now, let’s take a look at the Disney World wait times on January 9th, 2025.

Magic Kingdom

Boy, did Magic Kingdom have a rough day yesterday! TRON Lightcycle / Run had the highest wait time of 105 minutes right at the start of the day, but EIGHT rides closed throughout the day, including majorly popular ones like Peter Pan’s Flight and Space Mountain. While Magic Carpets of Aladdin isn’t a wildly popular attraction, it did cause issues by being down for over half the day.

Epcot

Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure hit a high of only 80 minutes, which isn’t too bad at all in our eyes! While this park didn’t struggle nearly as badly as Magic Kingdom, The Seas with Nemo and Friends mysteriously closed temporarily at 2PM (what is going ON with this ride?), and Remy’s closed at 8PM right before the park officially shut down for the night.

Flight of Passage hit a 95-minute wait, and while that’s certainly not nothing, it’s MUCH better than the 200+ minute waits we were just seeing about a week ago. Surprisingly, this park didn’t have any ride issues throughout the day, so gold star, Animal Kingdom!

While Rise of the Resistance hit a 120-minute wait, what was more surprising to us was that Toy Story Mania hit 100 minutes (higher than Slinky Dog Dash got throughout the day — could that be due to the cold weather?). Rise of the Resistance also dealt with major ride issues throughout the day, which is likely the cause of its high wait time later in the day.
