Long lines at Disney World rides aren’t uncommon.
Many rides will see wait times over an hour long and often reaching over an hour and a half. These rides are usually ones like Avatar Flight of Passage, Rise of the Resistance, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, and other very popular rides. However, the ride that had the second-highest wait time of the day on August 25th surprised us and was NOT what we were expecting.
The highest wait time in all of Disney World on August 24th was at Disney’s Animal Kingdom for Avatar Flight of Passage. This was unsurprising as this is a typically popular ride. However, the second highest wait time was NOT Rise of the Resistance, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, Tower of Terror, Slinky Dog Dash, or any other typically popular ride!
The second-highest wait time with an 80-minute wait at one point in the day was Kali River Rapids at Animal Kingdom! This is a popular ride, especially on hot summer days in the hottest Disney World park, but it was strange to see it having a higher wait than even the other most popular rides in all of Disney World. At other times of the day, it did have lower waits such as 20 minutes or less, but it was up over an hour for a couple of hours.
If you want to skip the long lines, you can take advantage of Disney World’s Lighting Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass systems. These are Disney’s paid skip-the-line systems that allow you to wait less time in lines and get on more rides!
