This Disney World Ride Was Closed For 6 HOURS Yesterday

Sometimes, your Disney World day doesn’t go as planned. That could be because you woke up later than anticipated and didn’t rope drop like you wanted, or maybe one of your favorite rides was down when you planned to ride it.

This gets worse when the ride you really were looking forward to is down closer to the end of the day, and you’re concerned it won’t start back up.​ That’s exactly what happened to not one, but TWO rides in Disney World yesterday, but one of them was closed for SIX HOURS.

Let’s take a look at wait times from Thursday, February 26th.

Magic Kingdom

Oftentimes, you may hear us talk about how much we recommend AVOIDING saving a ride you’re really hoping to ride until the end of the day. This is due to the fact that some rides, especially ones that are more technologically advanced, can close at the end of the day and not reopen before closing time, leaving lots of people out of luck. That’s exactly what just happened to TRON Lightcycle / Run, because last night, it hit a 70-minute wait an hour before closing, but then DID close due to an issue later on, and wasn’t available at the very end of the day.

Test Track hit a 95-minute wait, which isn’t even CLOSE to some of the high wait times we’ve seen during the week at this time of year, but this park did struggle HEAVILY with closures throughout the day. Test Track was closed for the first two hours of the day, and numerous other rides, such as Spaceship Earth, Journey into Imagination, Gran Fiesta Tour, Frozen Ever After, and more, were closed for at least one hour throughout the day.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Tower of Terror had the highest wait of 85 minutes yesterday, but for once, this may not have been due to half the ride being down, as it seems the wait time was high for this attraction all day! The park did have a few issues with Rise of the Resistance and Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, but otherwise, it had a pretty solid day.
