We’re over a week past New Year’s Day now, so that begs the question — is Disney World still as busy as it was during the holiday season?
Sometimes crowds can linger around, while other years we’ve noticed that the more intense crowds dissipate pretty quickly. We were taking a look at wait times, and based on what we’re seeing just from this ONE park, we have a feeling we’re about to enter one of the slower seasons.
Let’s take a look at wait times from January 8th, 2026!
Magic Kingdom
TRON Lightcycle / Run being at a 90 minute wait doesn’t surprise us, but what does have us a little concerned is the fact that Tiana’s Bayou Adventure was closed for the first three hours of the day, quickly followed by Carousel of Progress also closing for two hours. This is especially interesting, because while this is one of the longest running continuous “shows” of all time, it doesn’t often have issues. We’re hoping this isn’t the start of a new trend!

The highest wait in Animal Kingdom was Flight of Passage at a 60 minute wait, which is MUCH lower than we’ve seen in recent days, so could this mean the high holiday crowds are finally no more? We’re hoping so, but it’s also possible we see them rise again due to the 2026 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend starting this weekend, so keep that in mind over the next few days!
