“Line Procrastinators” Are Common in Disney World, but You Do NOT Want To Be One

It’s not uncommon to see ride issues in Disney World — it is a theme park full of tons of technologically advanced rides, some of which can’t run safely in storms!

However, some rides have more trouble than others, and if there’s a ride in the park you’re REALLY hoping to ride (especially if you feel like your day will be ruined if you don’t get a chance to), there’s one thing you should NEVER do in the park, no matter what day it is. Do NOT, we repeat, do NOT wait until the last minute! We go to Disney World a LOT, and while the “line procrastinator” strategy may seem like a good way to score a lower wait time at the end of the night, it’s a RISKY plan. Here’s why.

Below is a full list of wait times in Disney World on August 8th, 2025.

Magic Kingdom

TRON Lightcycle / Run hit its highest wait time of 95 minutes at the very END of the day again, and we have a feeling this is going to be the new trend we’ll be seeing for quite a while. We have a theory that this is due to the introduction of Disney Starlight, as we’ve noticed this trend since its debut. If you’re looking to ride with a lower wait time, don’t wait until the end of the day. In other news, closures were a BIG issue in the park today, so we’re keeping an eye on Magic Kingdom for sure.

Epcot

Cosmic Rewind had the highest wait time of 120 minutes, but only because Test Track had issues for multiple hours during the park day, including at the VERY end of the night. That’s why we say it’s a risk to save riding your favorite attraction for the end of the day, especially if it’s newer or has more technologically involved parts. No matter what, it does concern us that this ride just came out of a year-long refurbishment and is having so many issues.

Flight of Passage hit a 125-minute wait in the second hour of the day, then dropped heavily throughout the remainder of the day. However, Kali River Rapids closed for the last two hours of the day, so again, we don’t recommend waiting until the last minute for rides unless you’re truly okay with not getting the chance to experience them, in case something goes wrong.

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, Slinky Dog Dash, and Rise of the Resistance all had issues throughout the day. It seems like we may be entering into a bit of a troublesome time with multiple different parks, so we’ll keep an eye on things!
