Why Every Disney Adult Is Marking August 31st on Their Calendars

This is a big month for Disney fans!

What an August this will turn out to be! Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party starts on August 15th, EPCOT’s Food and Wine Festival starts on August 28th, and Destination D23 starts on August 29th to the 31st. That’s what we want to talk about, because with everything going on in August, the 31st is the biggest day to look out for!

We’ve been patiently waiting for this year’s Destination D23 weekend at Disney’s Coronado Springs, and we’re almost there (we seriously can’t wait any longer). We’re expecting Disney to drop the biggest news, announcements, and more.

The full schedule has just been released to show us when everything will be, and even though we’re excited for everything, one panel stands out! On Sunday, August 31st, there will be panels and presentations highlighting Disney Villains, The Disney Family Legacy, Walt Disney Archives, and more.

Wait…does that say Disney Villains? Are we finally going to get news on the brand-new Villains Land coming to Magic Kingdom?! It doesn’t look like Destination D23 will have a designated Disney Parks panel, so this would be the moment Disney would take to share anything. 

We went to take a closer look at what’s in store for this panel specifically, and sure enough, it looks like this could finally be the moment! On D23’s website, you’ll find a description for the panel in the events programming. It reads:

“Join Disney Experiences (and some of your favorite troublemakers) for a panel discussion on how Disney Villains experiences come to life around the world. Hear directly from the creative minds behind new projects and attractions, plus enjoy a special Villains-themed medley to kick off Destination D23 day 2.”

Although it’s not 100% confirmed to be about Villains Land, we have a good feeling about it. Now we’re wondering if we’ll get ride details, land details, a release date — whatever it is, we’re going to be thrilled!

We’ll get the chance to enjoy each day of D23 as we anticipate the final day. Friday will offer guests shopping with brand new collections from The Walt Disney Company Store, Mickey’s of Glendale, Disney Studio Store Hollywood, and Ink and Paint Marketplace.

Saturday will see panels focused on famous Disney Imagineers, Disney on Broadway, a look into creating “The Happiest Place On Earth”, Disney around the globe, and so much more!

Oh, and don’t forget about the Kuzcotopia Night at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park. It will be a splash bash party to celebrate 25 years of Disney Animation’s The Emperor’s New Groove.
