Disney World has been doing SO well with its unexpected ride closures, but yesterday completely turned things around on its head — it was ROUGH, to say the least.
Sometimes, ride closures happen due to rain in the area! Other times, rides just randomly shut down for technical delays. In fact, there was ONE popular ride in each Disney World park that was closed for AT LEAST four hours, and the closures had nothing to do with storms — we told you it wasn’t a good day, and it’s yet another reason why we say you need a Plan B in the parks!

Magic Kingdom
Magic Kingdom had a rough day when it came to ride closures, but thankfully, the highest wait time was TRON Lightcycle / Run at 90 minutes at the end of the night. While that’s certainly not nothing, it’s not bad for the middle of summer. Astro Orbiter was closed for the first FIVE hours of the park day, and that was before the rain hit later in the day. This is extra concerning to us since it JUST came out of a months-long refurbishment!

Cosmic Rewind jumped up to a 120-minute wait towards the end of the day, but what was more shocking to us was how many issues Journey Into Imagination and Frozen Ever After had during the first half of the day. Considering Frozen Ever After is one of the most popular rides in the park, its closure for the first six hours of the day was not ideal.

Slinky Dog Dash had a 120-minute wait right around the middle of the day, but worse than that was that it closed for a total of FOUR hours throughout the day, which certainly isn’t ideal. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster also closed for an hour, but considering this ride often has LOTS of issues, a one-hour closure isn’t bad at all.
