We’ve had days where we’re concerned about Disney World rides, sure, but it’s rare we see one closed for more than a few hours each day.
That was NOT the case yesterday, as sad as we are to report that. While Magic Kingdom, the park that’s been struggling the most recently, had a good day, there’s one EPCOT ride that had a BAD day. By that, we mean it closed for EIGHT hours…STRAIGHT.
Let’s check out the wait times from Sunday, February 22nd!
Magic Kingdom
Magic Kingdom actually had a REALLY great day with NO ride closures until the end of the night! That’s a major win, but something we saw at the end of the night really surprised us. TRON Lightcycle / Run had the highest wait of 65 minutes a few different times throughout the day, one of them being the final hour of the night. However, other than that ride, all attractions were 25 minutes and under! This is especially surprising since Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train were down, so we assumed other wait times would soar. Fortunately, that wasn’t the case.

Test Track had a 125 minute wait towards the evening, which likely has to do with the many ride closures throughout the day. Spaceship Earth was closed for EIGHT hours straight, Frozen Ever After was closed for two, and Test Track and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure both closed once. Spaceship Earth just came out of a refurbishment a few months ago, so we’re a little concerned this ride had such big issues from the start of the day.

Flight of Passage hit an 85 minute wait right at 11 AM, which is when we’re continuing to notice it often hits one of the highest waits of the day, but even more troublesome was that Expedition Everest was temporarily closed for three hours, and Kali River Rapids was closed for one. With so few attractions open in the park right now, any closure can have pretty drastic effects.

Well, we’ve got good news and bad news. The good news is that Tower of Terror had a much better day than the day prior, but it’s possible that Toy Story Mania could be acting up now, too. Both Slinky Dog Dash and Toy Story Mania tied at 80 minute waits, but the following hour, Toy Story Mania dropped down to a 35 minute wait, most likely indicating half the ride was down.

I was on Spaceship Earth last night at 7pm and it went down. We were evacuated and didn’t make it out of the ride until 7:53pm. It never came back up.
