Why You Might Want to Skip EPCOT Right Now

For the past few weeks, we’ve been telling you about spring break crowds and what type of wait times they’ve been causing around the parks.

After looking at the past few weeks’ dates, we’ve come to one conclusion: while it’s not possible to avoid the spring break crowds entirely, if you want to stay away from them as much as possible, this one park is NOT the one to go to.

Let’s take a look at wait times from Friday, April 3rd!

Magic Kingdom

TRON Lightcycle / Run and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure tied at a 105-minute wait, which is lower than we expected to see during spring break week! Especially considering the park had some pretty intense closures throughout the day, though fortunately, none of them lasted longer than an hour.

Epcot

EPCOT is clearly THE PLACE to be during this time of year, and that likely has to do with the fact that it’s the only park without major construction. Test Track hit a 150 minute wait, the highest in the entire park, and while Cosmic Rewind wasn’t far behind, it ended up coming out on top. We did see Journey into Imagination, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, and The Seas with Nemo and Friends close twice each during the day, which isn’t great, but better than what we’ve seen in days past!

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

For the first time in a while, Flight of Passage started off the day with its highest wait, which was 140 minutes! It continued to drop throughout the day, especially in the second half, so if you’re looking for the lowest wait times in this park right now, we recommend coming towards the end of the day. This is your reminder, too, though, that as it gets warmer, Kali River Rapids is going to get a longer wait. However, it often closes earlier than other rides, so while we don’t recommend getting in line when it’s 60+ minutes, if at all possible (honestly, we wouldn’t wait more than 30 for it, don’t be fooled by those high wait times), we also don’t recommend waiting until the very end of the day.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

While it was pretty close, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run ended up with the highest wait of 130 minutes, even though Rise of the Resistance was closed for the first two hours of the day. It looks like Tower of Terror also had some pretty high wait times, but this was likely due to half of the ride going down. How do we know this? Well, it sat at a 35 minute wait, then closed for an hour, and when it reopened, it was sitting at 85 minutes. It jumped all the way up to 120 minutes, but then just a few hours later, it was back down to 55 minutes and lower. Yes, the crowds genuinely could have been that all over the place, but we also know this ride is prone to issues that only affect half of the ride track.
