THIS Is Why We Say It’s an Unwritten Rule That You MUST Rope Drop Disney’s Animal Kingdom

When you’re planning your Disney World vacation, you may plan to hit the parks at rope drop to find shorter lines for your favorite rides.

Then, you get there and realize WOW, you’re exhausted! It’s a rope drop strategy that requires you to wake up EARLY, after all. But here’s the thing. Even though we know no one likes waking up early on vacation, there are some times that rope dropping may be the best way to get on the hottest attraction with an incredibly low wait, and that was demonstrated so clearly by what happened yesterday in Animal Kingdom!

Below is a full list of wait times in Disney World on June 6th, 2025.

Magic Kingdom

IT’S A MIRACLE! For the first time in a WHILE, Magic Kingdom had no closures, and its highest wait time was TRON Lightcycle / Run at 90 minutes. What surprises us about that, though, is that the ride reached a record-high in the FIRST hour of the park day — we guess people didn’t want to wait to ride it at night this time around!

Epcot

EPCOT, unfortunately, had a pretty rough day yesterday. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind closed for multiple hours unexpectedly (as did The Seas with Nemo and Friends), which caused it to jump to a 180-minute wait later in the day! Yikes — we love this ride, but we don’t think we’d wait that long for it.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Flight of Passage had the highest wait of 85 minutes in the second hour of the park day, which was to be expected, and you can see firsthand that getting to the park at 7 AM instead of 8 AM was MAJORLY worth it to ride this attraction with a lower wait (it was only 30 minutes at rope drop!). Thankfully, this park saw no ride closures, so yay Animal Kingdom!

While Slinky Dog Dash and Rise of the Resistance both had trouble towards the end of the day, it didn’t affect wait times too drastically! Slinky Dog Dash hit a 90-minute wait twice — once in the morning and once in the middle of the day — but otherwise, wait times stayed pretty even.
