Okay, so it’s common knowledge that rides occasionally close in Disney World.
Sometimes those closures are planned for ride refurbishments. Sometimes rides close because of bad weather (that’s pretty much all outdoor rides). Sometimes rides just have issues. Well, one classic Disney attraction was having a lot of issues in Disney World yesterday, so we’re warning you now if it’s on your ride priority list (and it probably is).​
If you’ve been following us for a while, you’ve probably seen that Pirates of the Caribbean has been having a lot of closures over the past six months or so. Well, yesterday, we’ll just tell you that Pirates of the Caribbean was closed for MOST of the day. There are only two periods of an hour when it was actually open, so if you didn’t catch it then, you were just out of luck.
Here’s the thing: Pirates of the Caribbean is a classic attraction and we get that just about everyone wants to ride it. It’s one of our favorites, too, so this can be frustrating. However, the best thing you can do when this happens is keep a close eye on the My Disney Experience app to see when it reopens.
If all else fails, you can always at least make that disappointment a little LESS disappointing by catching Captain Jack Sparrow wandering around Adventureland. Then you can get the Pirate experience, at least.
