Don't Forget! Rock 'n' Roller Coaster's LENGTHY Closure Starts TOMORROW in Disney World

That’s right. One of Disney World’s most popular coasters is temporarily closing TOMORROW.

Now that we’ve hit January, it’s officially refurbishment season in Disney World. Pools at Disney hotels are closing for months to get some TLC. Rides have announced closures to get some touch-ups. The biggest closure though is over at Hollywood Studios because Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster will shut its doors for MONTHS.

As of January 8th, 2024, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster will be closed for routine refurbishment.

We get it. Rides need some work every now and then. However, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster closed in early 2023 for a months-long refurbishment. The coaster closed on February 21st, 2023 for maintenance and refurbishment, with a projected reopening timeframe of “summer” 2023. We saw it reopen on May 26th after months of closure.

Even after that, we saw the coaster temporarily break down a lot. Hopefully, during this refurbishment period, Disney can eliminate some of the problems that cause it to go down constantly.

If you find yourself over at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Kali River Rapids is also closing as of January 8th, 2024. This refurbishment is much shorter though as the ride plans to reopen in mid-March — just in time before the Florida heat comes back hard!
