REOPENING TIMELINE Revealed for Kali River Rapids CLOSURE in Disney's Animal Kingdom

There’s a lot you need to consider when planning your Disney World trip!

You have to book your hotel, decide which parks to visit, and figure out where you want to eat. Not to mention, there are ride closures that might impact your stay — and that’s exactly what we’re updating you on right now!

Disney has revealed that Kali River Rapids, a water attraction in the Asia portion of Animal Kingdom, will be temporarily closed starting January 8th, 2023. The Disney calendar stops showing operating hours for the ride on that date.

At first, we weren’t sure how long the refurbishment would last since the calendar only goes out 60 days, but the Disney website has now been updated with more information. It looks like Kali River Rapids will be closed through March 15th!

That’s about two months of not being able to ride this attraction — but, Disney typically does minor repairs and refurbishments to water rides during colder months so this isn’t all that surprising.

If you’re planning a trip to Animal Kingdom during this time, keep this closure in mind and plan accordingly! You may experience longer wait times at other attractions since there won’t be people taking up space in the Kali River Rapids line.
