I Barrel Roll Every Time on Dragon Racer's Rally in Epic Universe

Not all rides at Epic Universe are created equally — and there’s one that I view as a personal challenge time after time.

Dragon Racer’s Rally at How to Train Your Dragon — Isle of Berk is both a spinning ride and a flying ride, giving you the opportunity to “barrel roll” if you know what you’re doing. I’ve learned the secret to barrel rolling EVERY TIME, and I’m here to share my wisdom with you.

I’m no stranger to rides, and Dragon Racer’s Rally has quickly become one that I can’t help but take as a personal challenge. At Dragon Racer’s Rally, Berk’s new Vikings can practice aerobatic maneuvers and high-speed barrel rolls on a Viking-made dragonriding trainer. It’s the perfect mix of a spinning and flying ride, and I knew I needed to ride it as soon as it was announced.

On Dragon Racer’s Rally, you can soar through the skies in a leisurely fashion, or you can do what I do and try to spin or barrel roll as many times as you possibly can.

If you want to get that barrel roll, you’re going to have to work for it. It took me a few rounds of riding it and trying before I was finally able to flip that first time. It takes quite a bit of maneuvering and throwing your body weight around — it’s not for the faint of heart.

It’s not an easy feat — and probably not something many younger kiddos are going to be able to do. But, if you’re as determined as I am, you can make it work.

So, if you’re headed to Epic Universe and want to conquer Dragon Racer’s Rally, you’re going to want to do some prep — mentally and physically. If you’re over 30, you’ll probably want to pop some ibuprofen beforehand for good measure. Definitely remove your earrings so they don’t end up stabbing you in the neck like mine did, and maybe do some light stretching because these dragons mean business.
