How the Wild BEAR Affected Wait Times in Magic Kingdom

In case you haven’t heard…something REALLY bizarre happened in Magic Kingdom yesterday. Truly unBEARable. (I’m sorry, that was a terrible pun.)

A wild BEAR made its way into the park, causing Disney to have to close Adventureland, Frontierland, and Liberty Square while they dealt with the problem. Because of this, all the restaurants, shops, and rides in those lands were closed for the entire morning. And that definitely had an impact on the park as a whole!

If you take a look at the wait times from yesterday morning, September 18th, you’ll see that many of the rides in Fantasyland and Tomorrowland had unusually high wait times…ya know, since half the park was closed. Once the left side of the park reopened around noon, things started to balance out a little bit more.

This was a truly unprecedented incident for Magic Kingdom, so it was interesting to see how it was handled. In the end, the bear was safely transported out of the park and things went back to normal later in the day.
