What would you do if you only had ONE HOUR to ride your favorite ride in Animal Kingdom?
We know what it’s like when the Disney World parks have a rough go of keeping rides open throughout the day or running off foul pests that make the ride operations their home but this is a new tragedy that unfolded right before us yesterday.
While Disney’s Animal Kingdom isn’t home to many rides, it is home to a few really great thrills. Most people tend to head for these rides first like Avatar Flight of Passage, Expedition Everest, and Dinosaur, but if that was your plan yesterday, you would have waited around almost all day for one of these!
Dinosaur is a ride we have a love/hate relationship with because it’s constantly down. It’s one of the rides that’s really great when it’s running and one that you miss when it’s down. So imagine traveling all the way to Animal Kingdom to ride this one ride and only having one hour to do it?!
That’s exactly what happened at this ride. The park opened to the ride being temporarily closed and things weren’t looking good for it right from the jump. By mid-day, Dinosaur was STILL closed and left us wondering if we’d ever see it open.
FINALLY, at 6PM it was able to open for the first time all day. Unfortunately, this only gave visitors ONE hour to ride until the park closed at 7PM. If you were in line for the ride right before closing for the night you would still be allowed to ride but this really could have thrown a wrench into your plans if you were looking to ride Dinosaur earlier in the day before park hopping or heading out of the park for the evening. Sometimes, it pays to stay in the same park all day long.
