Memorial Day Weekend in Disney World can get pretty interesting, but believe it or not, we DON’T mean that in the way of massive crowds. In fact, even though it’s right at the start of summer, we often mean the opposite.
However, each year, we wonder if that trend will continue, or if it’ll suddenly change on a dime. When looking at wait times from yesterday, it looks like while the parks may not be overcrowded, there are two Disney World rides that were looking for a bit of an extended break.
Let’s take a look at wait times from Sunday, May 24th.
Magic Kingdom
It looks like people are back to wanting to ride TRON Lightcycle / Run at night again, because the ride had the highest wait time of 75 minutes right at the end of the day. We are concerned to see that Haunted Mansion was closed for the first FIVE hours of the park day, especially since it wasn’t that long ago the ride was closed for over a day and a half with no commentary on what caused such a long closure.

Kali River Rapids had a rough day, and not only because it hit a 90 minute wait. In fact, we believe the only reason it got that high was due to the fact that it was closed for five hours straight at the start of the day. We also do see this ride get pretty long wait times when it gets hot, so expect to see some high wait times throughout the summer. While Expedition Everest also had a bit of a rough day, it only closed for two hours, which could have been much worse!

Slinky Dog Dash had the highest wait of 100 minutes, likely due to being closed for the first hour of the day, as it dropped throughout the rest of the day. Meanwhile, it still seems that no one cares too much about the new missions at Millennium Falcon, which makes us SAD because we think they’re incredible! Lower wait times mean we can ride over and over, so there’s that perk, but seriously, you’re missing out!
