So you’ve finally made it to Disney World, and you’re waiting to get into Disney’s Hollywood Studios to rope drop one of its most popular rides.
So you make your way ALL the way over to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge (which is quite the trek from the Hollywood Studios entrance) only to find out that the ride is closed. Yep, that ride is Rise of the Resistance, and that’s why you often can’t rope-drop it.
Rise of the Resistant is a technological marvel of a ride, but because it is so high-tech, it often has technical issues. That means it goes down quite a bit, but it’s probably the most frustrating when it goes down first thing in the morning, especially with everyone trying to rope-drop the attraction.
Well, that’s exactly what happened yesterday, February 8th. Rise of the Resistance was closed when the park opened and stayed closed for another hour afterward.
So what should you do if that happens to you? Well, your best plan of action is to hit up some other rides and keep checking the My Disney Experience app to see when the ride reopens. However, if you paid for an Individual Lightning Lane for Rise of the Resistance and it’s closed during your return time, you’ll get an experience redemption that you can use for the ride later in the day. If it stays closed all day, you can visit Guest Relations and request a refund.
