The 3 Rides To Avoid When Rope Dropping Magic Kingdom

We always stress how important it is to rope drop certain parks in Disney World if you’re not the type of person who likes standing in long lines for rides. Of all the parks, Magic Kingdom is probably the park you’ll certainly want to rope drop, no matter what.

Rope dropping Magic Kingdom will allow you to knock out more rides in the morning than you would be able to do if you arrive later in the day. But there are three rides you should avoid rope dropping.​

Rope drop at Magic Kingdom means most rides you get in line for will be at 30 minutes or less, with many of the rides being walk-on or very close to walk-on. If you combine that with Early Theme Park Entry, you could knock out a lot of rides quickly in the morning.

However, there are three rides that generally have notoriously long lines at rope drop, so you’ll want to avoid those. Those rides are Peter Pan’s Flight (it’s a slow loading ride and that gives it long wait times throughout the day), Seven Dwarfs Mine Train (it’s just a super popular ride), and TRON Lightcycle / Run (a new ride). Save those for later or ride them through Lightning Lane Multi Pass or Lightning Lane Single Pass.
