When Disney World rides go down, sometimes it’s just for an hour, but other times, you keep checking the My Disney Experience App and it’s down for hours at a time.
That’s why we say it’s important to have backup plans for your park day, because you never know what may go wrong. Yesterday proved that it’s entirely possible for MULTIPLE attractions to have strangely similar closure issues, even if they’re miles away from each other, so you’ll want to be prepared!
Magic Kingdom
TRON Lightcycle / Run both started AND ended the day with 75-minute waits, but dropped pretty considerably throughout the day. While the midday storms did cause a lot of outdoor ride closures, that’s to be expected during the summer. What we didn’t expect to see was that Pirates of the Caribbean closed for the first FIVE hours of the day, which certainly wasn’t ideal.

Slinky Dog Dash had the highest wait of 95 minutes, but what really shocked us was that Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run was ALSO closed for the first five hours of the day! Almost exactly what happened in Magic Kingdom, which is an incredible coincidence.
