Welp, It’s Official. I’m DONE Planning My 2025 Disney World Trip After Reading This

Let’s face it, planning a Disney World trip in 2025 can feel like you’re training for a marathon.

Welcome to Disney World

Between budgeting, scheduling, and figuring out how to survive Florida’s infamous weather, it’s enough to make even the most dedicated Disney fan want to throw in the towel. But here’s the deal – we’re here to help so that you can plan a magical trip without losing your sanity! We’ve gone ahead and rounded up the ultimate tips to help you nail your Disney trip without breaking the bank, your feet, or your patience.

Pack the Right Gear

You can’t conquer Disney without the right arsenal of gear. First up, comfortable shoes are an absolute must. You’ll be walking literal miles every day, so leave the cute-but-painful shoes at home.

Next, bring a refillable water bottle to save on hydration costs since you can find free refilling stations all around the parks. Trust us, Florida’s heat will make you need it.

It’s a great water bottle!

Now, what about some other lifesavers? A portable charger or battery bank (because nothing ruins a park day like a dead phone), cooling towels or a personal fan for when the sun feels like it’s personally attacking you, SPF to avoid looking like a lobster, and a poncho or mini umbrella for those unpredictable afternoon showers. Trust me, you’ll thank yourself when you’re dry and smugly watching the soaked masses.

Plan for Florida Weather

Speaking of weather, Florida does not mess around. It’s hot, it’s humid, and – if you’re visiting during hurricane season – it’s unpredictable.

Be ready for afternoon rainstorms that can last anywhere from five minutes to an hour, and plan your day around them.

Don’t let the rain ruin your day!

If you’re visiting during the summer, prioritize staying cool. Midday breaks (more on those later) and planning your heaviest activities for the morning or evening can help you avoid a meltdown (literally).

Don’t Over-Pack Your Schedule

Look, I get it. You’re staring at four parks and what feels like a million attractions, and you want to do everything. But trust me: you can’t.

It’s tough to make it to all four parks in one day!

Trying to cram four parks into one day or scheduling every second with dining reservations and rides will lead to burnout faster than you can say “Expedition Everest.”

Pick your must-dos and leave room for flexibility. That spontaneous Dole Whip break or extra time at Galaxy’s Edge might end up being the highlight of your day.

Plan Midday Breaks

Disney World crowds and Florida heat can be brutal, especially midday. That’s why I’m a huge advocate for leaving the parks for a few hours in the afternoon. Head back to your resort to relax, recharge, and escape the chaos.

Take some time to relax!

When you come back in the evening, the parks are cooler, often less crowded, and way more enjoyable.

Plus, nighttime at Disney World is just chef’s kiss – you can’t beat those fireworks and the ambiance.

Master Disney Transportation

Disney’s transportation system is a gem…until it isn’t.

Express Monorail is closed

Buses, boats, monorails, and the Skyliner are great when they’re running smoothly, but delays and breakdowns can happen. Always have a backup plan.

Sometimes the Skyliner may unexpectedly close, too!

Whether it’s using a rideshare app like Lyft or just knowing how to navigate on foot, having options will save you stress (and time).

Budget for Price Increases

The sad reality is that Disney isn’t getting any cheaper, folks. Ticket prices, food costs, and merch have all gone up in recent years, and that trend isn’t slowing down.

Before you even think about your trip, you’ll want to make sure to set a realistic budget. Account for everything from Lightning Lanes to churros and Mickey-shaped snacks.

Decide Where to Splurge

If you didn’t know this, Disney is all about prioritizing your splurges. Maybe you go all-in on a deluxe resort for that luxurious pool and proximity to the parks.

Stunning!

Maybe you book a VIP tour to skip the lines like royalty. Or maybe your splurge is a must-have souvenir, like one of those adorable popcorn buckets. The point is to decide what’s worth it to you and spend accordingly.

Scope Out Discounts

Did you know there are tons of Disney discounts hiding in plain sight?

Disney+ subscribers, Disney Visa cardholders, Annual Passholders, and Disney Vacation Club members can all snag deals on tickets, merchandise, and even dining. Before you book, scour the internet for any offers that apply to you. In the end, every dollar saved is a dollar you can spend on another treat.

Check for Refurbishments

Imagine getting to Disney World and finding out that your favorite ride – or worse, your resort pool – is closed. That’s totally not the vibe.

The Inn Leisure Pool is currently closed

We highly recommend checking the refurbishment schedules before your trip so you can adjust your plans (and expectations) accordingly.

Master the Lightning Lane System

Finally, if you’re using the Lightning Lane system, you’ll seriously want to learn how it works before you go.

This means knowing which rides are worth booking, how to make reservations efficiently, and how to avoid common pitfalls. Trust me, there’s nothing worse than wasting your paid reservation on a ride you could’ve walked on in five minutes.

Final Thoughts

Planning a Disney World trip doesn’t have to feel like rocket science. With the right prep, you’ll be ready to enjoy the magic without the stress. Focus on what matters to you, be flexible, and don’t forget: the most magical part of Disney is the memories you’ll make – not the meticulously planned schedule.
