Let’s all face the sad truth: it rains at Walt Disney World. A lot!

And although the Florida showers can be impossible to avoid, especially in the summer, we have a few tips to help you make the most of the situation.

While we have already shared what it’s like when a hurricane hits Disney World or five things that happen on a rainy day in the parks, today, it’s time to get down to the slippery details of which attractions you should take advantage of when you find yourself in the World on a rainy day.
Water Rides
Take advantage of the rain by hopping on a water ride (if the pesky lightning and thunder stay away and they’re still open). I mean, if you’re already going to find yourself soaked, why not have a little fun doing it?
Splash Mountain
Splash Mountain will get ya wet and it will kill some of the time you’ll find yourself in the rain. This is because it’s a lengthy attraction. We only suggest doing this if there’s a short wait time, though, because most of the queue is outside. And while it’s fun to ride a water ride in the rain, it’s not so fun to stand in line while getting soaked.

Kali River Rapids
Another attraction you can take advantage of that is known to get folks soaked is Kali River Rapids! This is a raft ride and you will find yourself outside the entire time. So be prepared! But what better time to do it than in the rain, right?

Attractions with Indoor Queues and Long Wait Times
When it’s raining we also suggest hopping in line for the following attractions. Yep: don’t use a FastPass; instead, take advantage of the lengthy wait time and the indoor queue. Hopefully the rain will die off by the time you’re ready to head to the next attraction!
Peter Pan’s Flight
Peter Pan’s Flight typically has a long wait time and can be hard to snag a FastPass for. So, if it starts to rain, and you’re nearby, we suggest hopping in line. Not only will you find yourself undercover, but you’ll also be surrounded by a gorgeously themed queue line!

Space Mountain
Though the Space Mountain queue isn’t the prettiest, it is plenty of fun. The line will likely be long, so you can hang out inside while the storm passes. Also, you’ll have the opportunity to play some fun space games, and there are a bunch of fun Play Disney Parks app opportunities within the queue line.

Toy Story Mania
Another attraction that you should take advantage of if it starts to rain in Disney World is Toy Story Mania. There is so much to look at within this queue, and there are some fun photo spots. Also, the entire thing is inside so you can stay dry for a bit!

Flight of Passage
Flight of Passage in Animal Kingdom is still experiencing insane wait times. But a storm is the perfect time to wait in line. The queue is seriously stunning and an experience all on its own. And what better time to wait in a three-hour line than when it’s pouring outside? (Do note that some of this queue is outdoors, though, so you may want to be poncho-ready.)

Other honorable mentions are Soarin’, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Mission Space.

Attractions That Take a Long Time
We also suggest hopping on rides that take a long time to experience. You can be seated in comfort for these types of experiences — and wait out the storm while being entertained!
Spaceship Earth
Spaceship Earth is a leisurely and educational ride, and it’s all enclosed (save for the queue), so you can stay dry while still thanking the Phoenicians!

Carousel of Progress
Our favorite rotating theater attraction is always a good choice on a rainy day! Sit back, relax, and say ‘hi’ to Rover for us!
