UPDATE On Universal’s Kids Resort Opening THIS Year

We’ve been following Universal’s new theme park in Texas, Universal Kids Resort. When we were driving in Frisco this week, we saw they’re already making great construction progress!

Universal Kids Resort is located in Frisco, a suburb north of Dallas, Texas. It’s aimed at families with young children, but it looks fun for all ages! It has seven lands themed after Shrek, SpongeBob, Minions, Trolls, and Jurassic World.

When we were driving around Frisco, we figured we might see a sneak peek of the new theme park since it’s right off the highway. But we saw that Universal already installed road signs, so we had to take a pit stop and check it out! Who would’ve thought a road sign would make us so excited?

Universal Kids Resort will have a massive hotel located near the front of the park. We’ve seen some concept art, but now we’ve finally seen it in person! The building is so colorful and looks just like the renderings. There’s also an easy pathway from the highway to the resort for future guests.

On the side of the building towards the highway, there’s a massive mural of Gabby and some more characters in the theme park! There were quite a few construction cranes, so work is still ongoing for amenities in front of the hotel, like the parking lots and pool.

We weren’t able to see the theme park from behind the hotel, but some construction cranes were towering in the back, so work is still underway. Universal Kids Resort will have seven brand new lands with never-before-seen rides!
